Terms and Conditions –

1. Overview

These terms and conditions (“Agreement”) apply to all day walking tours (“Tours”) provided by Local Gem Tour (“Company”, “we”, “our” or “us”). By booking a Tour through our website, you (“Client”, “you”) agree to be bound by this Agreement.

2. Booking and Payment

  • Full payment is required at the time of booking.

  • Infants (0-5 years old) can join the tours free of charge. 

  • Your booking confirmation will be automatically sent to you by email upon successful completion of your order. If for any reason you do not receive this email, please contact us at [info@localgemtour.com] as this may mean that your order has not been successfully processed. Please check your junk or spam folder first.

  • All prices are quoted in Japanese Yen (JPY) unless otherwise noted and include applicable consumption tax. 

  • Your tour price includes your guide fee. Other items such as transportation, food, beverages, etc. are not included. 

  • By submitting payment, you confirm that you are authorized to use the selected payment method.

 

3. Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • Cancellations and refunds are governed by our Cancellation Policy, available on our website.

  • We work very hard to ensure that all tours run as scheduled. When a tour cancels and it is our fault, we will refund the full price.
  • In the event that we must cancel a tour due to natural disasters (e.g., earthquakes), extreme weather, or any other unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, we will offer either a full refund or the opportunity to reschedule.
  • Similarly, if you are unable to arrive at a meeting point on time due to a disruption in the transportation system. Please let us know by e-mail with a picture or screen shot that you can prove it as soon as possible, we will refund the full price.
 
  • Cancellation Policy according to your wishes. 
    Cancellation less than 1 day prior to the event date will be charged 100% of the cancellation fee.
    Cancellation less than 3 days prior to the event date: 60% of the total amount of the cancellation fee.
    Cancellation less than 7 days prior to the event date: 40% of the total amount of the cancellation fee.

  • No refunds will be provided for cancellations that fall outside the terms of this policy.

 

4. Lateness and No-Show Policy

  • If a guest arrives more than 15 minutes late without prior notice, the booking will be considered a no-show, and no refund will be given.

  • If you give us advance notice but are more than 1 hour late, we will do our best to accommodate you. However, due to scheduling constraints, your tour may be shortened or canceled without a refund.

  • Please contact us as soon as possible if you expect to be late. 

 

5. Participation Requirements

  • All participants must be in appropriate physical condition and capable of walking for the duration and terrain of the tour.

  • Please inform us in advance of any health conditions or physical limitations.

  • We reserve the right to refuse participation to any guest who may pose a risk to themselves or others.

 

6. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that all guests obtain comprehensive travel insurance to cover medical expenses, accidents, lost property, and trip cancellations.

7. Liability & Responsibility

  • Participation in our tours is at your own risk.

  • Local Gem Tour will not be liable for any injury, illness, death, loss, damage or inconvenience to any participant unless caused by proven negligence.

  • Guests are responsible for the care of their own personal belongings during the tour.

 

8. Force Majeure

We are not responsible for delays, changes, or cancellations due to events beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government restrictions, pandemics, or other public emergencies.

9. Photography and Media

  • We may take photograph and videos during the tour for promotional purposes.

  • If you prefer not to be included, please inform us before the tour begins.

 

10. Privacy

  • We will never sell or share your personal information with third parties.

  • However, we reserve the right to use the information you provide for internal marketing and research purposes only.

  • All information will be handled in accordance with the applicable privacy laws in Japan.

 

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Agreement is governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising out of or relating to this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Japan.
